Featured by BBC Introducing, Carl’s music has been included on BBC Sounds playlists and broadcasts, while his original music for film blends electronic colours with traditional orchestral voices. In his parallel career as an orchestral musician, Carl has played on soundtracks recorded at Abbey Road, Air, Metropolis, Wave and Rak studios for composers and artists including Daniel Hart (Interview with the Vampire, Mother Mary), Bobby Krlic (Beau Is Afraid) Mica Levi (for Jonathan Glazer’s Channel 4 idents), Bastille (Amazon Music) and Charlotte Harding as well as for classical orchestral releases (Signum, NMC).Within the world of film, he has also recorded tuba material for use within the haunting sound design of The Zone of Interest (Dir. Jonathan Glazer). Carl has performed with orchestras including the London Symphony Orchestra and the orchestra of the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden in broadcasts on BBC radio and TV as well as within documentaries, the BBC Proms and at Glastonbury. This performance career has allowed Carl to experience all kinds of sound worlds which have influenced his own compositional style.As a background musician for film and television, Carl has first hand knowledge of on set production, most notably being filmed for The Crown (Elstree), Military Wives (Pinewood), The Ipcress File (ITV on location) and Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation (LH2 & Leavesden).Carl has also performed a number of times with the Video Games Live orchestra, bringing computer game soundtracks to UK concert halls in vivid concerts directed by Tommy Tallarico, Eimear Noone and Austin Wintory. In addition, Carl has also play tested games for Sony, Electronic Arts and Quantic Dream, giving him a deeper understanding of game development processes.Carl studied at the Royal Academy of Music, and Royal Holloway, University of London and has benefited from private study as well as being accepted onto courses run by bodies including the National Film and TV School, Beaconsfield.His music is available to listen to and buy on Bandcamp and Metalabel:https://denhamscreensound.bandcamp.com
